CATO is Gerald O'Brien and Catt Gravitt. Their songs have been recorded by Loverboy, Sons Of Sylvia, Rascal Flatts, Boyzone, Hall & Oates, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, Kenny Rogers, Ronnie Milsap, Amanda Marshall, Glass Tiger, Rick Springfield, Natalie Grant, The Guess Who, Julianne Hough, Mandisa, Simple Plan, Billy Dean and many others.

CATO specializes in Artist Development. Their most recent co-production is with Jack Joseph Puig (U2, Green Day, Rob Thomas, Counting Crows, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow) on the new SONS OF SYLVIA 'Revelation' CD (19 Recordings/Interscope).

Gerald O'Brien

Canadian born, award winning songwriter Gerald O'Brien, who makes his home in Nashville Tennessee, has written successfully across all genres of music and extensively for film and television. Most recently O'Brien has written music for the hit TV series Dr. Phil, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, Rachel Ray, and more. He has also written music for noteable events such as the Tour De France, Calgary Stampede, The 1998 Nagano Olympics, the NFL Super Bowl, The World Series, ABC's Wide World of Sports, the PGA, and has scored numerous animated TV series as well.

As a songwriter Gerald has penned songs for Hall & Oates, Manhattan Transfer, Amanda Marshall, Deborah Harry, Loverboy, The Guess Who, Glass Tiger, Michelle Wright as well as Martina McBride, Trace Adkins and Ronnie Milsap. Over his long and successful career O'Brien has received awards from CMPA for Song of Year, SOCAN Classic Song Award and been nominated for 2 JUNO Awards. Gerald is also one half of the instrumental duo ‘EXCHANGE’ (Steve Sexton is the other half), who have recorded 6 CD's since 1989.

Catt Gravitt

Anything is possible according to Coal Valley, Illinois native Catt Gravitt. After writing songs that were recorded by the likes of country music superstars such as Martina McBride, Kenny Rogers, Ronnie Milsap, Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins, JoDee Messina and Craig Morgan, perhaps it is. Catt's powerful songwriting ability warranted her success not only in the country music world, but also in Christian music. She co-wrote the No. 1 single "In Better Hands" for Natalie Grant, the reigning Gospel Music Associations (GMA) Female Vocalist of the Year. The song was nominated for the GMA Song of the year and Pop Song of the Year.

One might think there was a formula to such successful songwriting. "I just say a prayer before I go into every writing room that I can get out on my own way. That's really what I do every morning," Catt says.

While living in Los Angeles early in her career, Catt toured and sang lead in a girl pop group, but she still felt a yearning for something different. "I was born and raised on country music from my parents, and I also took a liking to Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. It was just all about the song for me."
